
TONY GRANERI
Associate, Registered psychologist and ASIST trainer
Tony is a psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (registration number PSY0001580026).
As an associate of The Higher Mix, Tony has been in the private sector since 1986, with special interest in trauma, military psychology and alcohol dependency.
Earlier on in his career, Tony was a psychologist with the Royal Australian Navy (part-time) from 2006-2013. In the role dealing with Post Traumatic Stress and Critical Incident issues, he lectured on anxiety, ‘keeping your mates safe’ and suicide intervention.
Tony has since become a trainer for the implementation and management of HD294 (Critical Incident Management and Suicide Intervention). As member of the Command Team, he’s a qualified trainer of the ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) courses; helping to run OATP (Outplacement Alcohol Treatment Programme) courses.
His expertise, background and skills specifically in dealing with alcohol dependency scenarios led Tony to becoming co-founder of a community intervention meeting in regard to alcohol dependency in late 2016 with Jo Woodfield. Heavily involved in the design, development and the operations of national programs - Tony’s role also is guiding roll-out specific individual interventions.
As a highly respected psychologist and facilitator, Tony hails from over 30 years of addiction training and involves cognitive behavioural modification, mental / emotional (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) interventions (among others). Giving individuals and the wider community a superior opportunity to not only deal with (but to beat) alcohol abuse and/or dependency.
Tony’s contribution into The Higher Mix is to be a driver to encourage and affect societal change and deliver powerful individual interventions that work.
