Russell is an energetic and entrepreneurial executive with over 25 years’ experience in commercial and corporate leadership positions.
His expertise extends across offshore Oil and Gas sector, with a career based on subsea design engineering and demonstrated offshore construction experience.
Russell has worked in regions around the world - Australia, New Zealand, UK, Norway, USA, Netherlands, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and Timor Leste.
He has an exemplary track record in developing and selling off many successful small businesses, including a Subsea Engineering Consultancy, an Offshore Construction business, a Property Development business, Environmental Management business and still with an active stake in NRG People, an Indigenous Recruitment and Labour Hire business.
In addition to his start-up expertise, Russell’s held senior leadership positions, most notably as Group Vice President, Corporate Development for Neptune Marine Services (ASX:NMS).
Russell won a WA Business News “40 under 40” award in 2009 and was awarded the “UWA Strategic Alliance Award” in the same year, selected in the top four for this prestigious award.
Invited to join The Higher Mix in 2018, Russ enjoys providing discrete, confidential and tailored counselling/ coaching to today’s business leaders. He’s a trusted sounding board for their leadership challenges, personally and professionally inside organisations.
Russell has studied Brand and Strategy at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland and currently is working towards AICD accreditation to extend his advisory services and level of support to Boards.
